It’s worth the effort, though—a striking, happy photograph of a growing family is perfect for our customers and for that it can become an heirloom that is enjoyed and passed down for generations.
The key is to acknowledge and then prepare and minimize the risks. When photoshooting family portrait session, follow our few tips, and you’ll be on your way to have gotten beautiful happiness within images.

1. PLAN YOUR LOCATION WISELY

Nobody wants to stand in the hot sun for a long time. Likewise, we can’t control the weather, so include a Plan B when you book with us,  a backup date or simply a location switch that includes both outdoor and indoor for covered options for shooting would be sufficient.

2. BRING THE RIGHT CLOTHING

Keeping the wardrobe on a theme or go with a more neutral look is a good planning. Festive holiday attire or even ugly Christmas sweaters can be fun, but that’s not relevant all year-round.
It’s a good idea to have everyone bring a backup outfit if your Photoshoot exceeds 2hr, especially for kids.

3. PREP THE KIDS

This is the most important tip for with family photoshoot. Prep your kids for the shoot, beginning days in advance. Build it up to be a fun event that they look forward to, followed by a treat, like ice cream or a visit to the playground before or after the Photoshoot. Let your kids know about it, and get them excited for it!
While the anticipation factor is important, the same day buildup is even more crucial. Children should arrive with full bellies! Hungry children are unhappy children.

4. KEEP KIDS ENGAGED DURING THE PHOTOSHOOT

Bring a treat or snack for the kids, offer children with small bribe! Often, the best pictures of children occur in the first 20 to 30 minutes of a shoot. For children who are more shy, the best pictures and expression usually opens up after the first 30-45 minutes.

5. STAY ON THE MOVE

Even adults can quickly get tired of having their photo taken, forgotten about their pose and smiles. It is important to remind oneselves, to keep your smile going till the last photo of the session.
Capturing the perfect family portrait is not an easy task! But with the right planning and prep, you’ll discover that capturing happy families at its very best is incredibly magical and rewarding.
